An ambitious vision for the future of Clacton is today being unveiled for the first time in pictures and drawings.
The vision, designed to give the seaside town a new look, focuses on seven key areas in the resort and includes proposals for a wind farm platform on the pier.
There are also suggestions for a pavilion with bowling alley, a new retail sector in Jackson Road and Pier Avenue, and a community garden next to the railway station.
A department store is proposed where the current Carnarvon Road car park is.
A youth cafe has been suggested next to Clacton library and youth wardens to monitor their behaviour in the town.
People are being asked to comment on the vision now, so that designers can put together a final report.
The designs will be put on display in the town. The exhibition was due to start last Thursday at the West Cliff Theatre, but was postponed and a new date has yet to be confirmed.
A questionnaire on the vision is available to download now from tendring.gov.uk/clactonvision.
