A law graduate has slammed a major supermarket chain after she discovered a worm in her scotch egg.
Fernanda Rossatto bought a pack of six snack eggs from Tesco, in Greenstead Road, Colchester.
She and her housemate ate two without complaint, but when she bit into a third egg she found a 4cm worm.
The Brazilian-born 27-year-old, of Gardenia Walk, Greenstead, said: "As I bit into it I saw something in the egg and discovered it was a small, thin worm.
"It was the same colour as the egg white, but it was in the sausage meat and went from one side of the egg to the other.
"It was disgusting - it completely put me off eating anything like sausage or scotch egg ever again."
Miss Rossatto said she had since revisited the supermarket chain to complain.
A Tesco spokesman said: "This is very surprising so we'll send the item to the supplier to investigate as soon as we receive it."
