TWO thousand screaming youngsters shouted, sang, stamped and laughed as the Too Smart roadshow came to north Essex.
The award-winning roadshow, run by Essex Police with support from Essex FM, is currently touring the county, performing to pupils in the first year of secondary school - aged 11 to 12.
Students from schools across the Colchester and Tendring districts, including Colbayns High School, Bishops Park College, St Helena School, Sir Charles Lucas Arts College and The Gilberd School, all attended when the show came to Charter Hall, Cowdray Avenue, Colchester.
The 90-minute show used to be known as Too Smart For Drugs, but this year changed its name to Too Smart.
The new name shows the way the show has adapted to tackle other key issues affecting young people, namely alcohol, bullying, knives and drugs.
It is an educational event, but uses dance, drama, music, comedy and sport to get its message across in a way youngsters will hopefully listen to.
