Wet weather did not dampen the spirits of more than 100 charity walkers.
Despite the rainfall on Sunday walkers joined in the seventh annual Mayflower Walk from Harwich to Manningtree.
Starting at the Low Lighthouse in Harwich at 10.30am, the 13.8-mile route followed the Dovercourt promenade, through Little Oakley, Ramsey and Stour Wood, then through the Essex Wildlife reserve in Wrabness, through Bradfield and Mistley Heath to end at Manningtree railway station.
David Moss, of the Rotary Club of Manningtree Stour Valley, said: "The walk went very well. About 100 people took part - it is less than we would usually have for today.
"It is two years running we have had rain on the day of the walk.
"Everyone who took part did very well.
"We would really like more young people to take part - we had a lady with her year-old baby take this year. The baby was three months old when she took part last year."
Walkers also had the option to take part in a shorter walk from Harwich to Wrabness or Wrabness to Manningtree.
Money raised in the sponsored walk is divided between the individual's chosen charity and the Rotary Club.
