A mother-of-three who is going blind is lacing up her running shoes to raise awareness about her condition.
Patricia Leaver, 44, of Mayes Lane, Ramsey, has macular disease, which is a genetic condition.
She has already lost the sight in her right eye and will eventually lose the sight in her left.
Mrs Leaver and her 17-year-old daughter Hannah are taking part in the British 10k London Run in July, to raise money for the Macular Disease Society.
Mrs Leaver faces the prospect of any of her children inheriting the disease.
She said: "If people could support me it will be absolutely amazing, they would be doing something to change the future. I do this to raise awareness so that my children, who live with a cloud above their heads, have a light at the end of the tunnel."
The charity campaigns to raise awareness and support those with macular degeneration.
It will be the third year running Mrs Leaver has participated in the event.
