A SCHOOL was transformed when it became a skate park for the day.
Dozens of youngsters attended the skate day at Stanway School, organised by the Stanway Youth Forum, where they had the opportunity to get tips from a professional skateboarder, try out the massive 10m half-pipe and launch ramps and have a go on the bike ramp course.
The free event also saw the youth bus visit, giving the youths the chance to shelter inside and play games consoles.
The special day was designed to help them have an input in plans for a permanent skate park.
It was funded by Colchester Borough Homes, Essex Youth Bank, Youth Opportunity Fund, Sainsbury's, Essex Police, Essex County Council, The Stanway School and Colchester Council.
