A TESLA driver was caught driving a significant amount over a residential speed limit during police checks.
The motorist was snapped travelling at 51mph within a 30mph limit in Abberton.
It came as officers from Essex Police’s Roads Policing Unit, based in Stanway, were carrying out the checks in the village south of Colchester.

A spokesman said: “This Tesla driver was travelling well over the posted limit.
“Several other vehicles [were] stopped including one with little to no tyre tread and speeding.”
