A MUSICIAN who has been performing for two decades will bring his multi-award-winning brand of folk to the stage of a historic city centre venue next month.
Kris Drever, who has been described as “the new standard bearer of the folk revival” and “completely infectious”, will play at Colchester Arts Centre on November 21.
The Scottish singer and guitarist is stopping off in the city as part of a 14-date tour of the country which will also see him perform in the likes of London and Norwich.
During his gig in Colchester, the artist will take the audience on a musical journey through his 20-year career, playing a range of traditional and original songs.
He will also revisit tunes from his debut record Black Water and tracks he participated in for the Spell Songs project, which comprised of an ensemble of musicians.
A spokesman for the event said: “Drever’s skill in creating insightful standards and his constant reinvention in the live setting are just a couple of the reasons he has become a major artist in today’s international roots music community.”
Tickets for the gig, beginning at 7.45pm, cost £16 or £15 for concessions and can be purchased by visiting colchesterartscentre.com.
