STUDENTS at an all-girls school are being encouraged to apply for a scholarship following the launch of a new programme.
St Mary’s Senior School, in Lexden Road, Colchester, is offering scholarships to pupils who will be joining Year 7 in September 2023.
There will also be a limited number of financial awards afforded to students heading into Year 8, 9 and 10 when the new school year begins.
The academic, arts, sports, all-round and STEM scholarships on offer are handed out solely on merit and in open competition.
No financial assessment will be carried out and there is no set limit to the number of scholarships that may be offered in one year of entry.
Mrs Nicola Griffiths, St Mary’s principal said “We are excited to launch our enhanced scholarship programme.
“It is designed to accelerate the development of students that are able in a variety of disciplines.
“Scholars act as role models and leaders to other students and as ambassadors for St Mary’s.
“The girls are encouraged, and expected, to make the most of the wealth of educational opportunities available to them.”
The deadline to apply for a 2023 scholarship is this Sunday and more information is available by visiting stmaryscolchester.org.uk.
