A MAN who assaulted a policeman and then failed to show up to court has been fined hundreds of pounds.
Aiden Lateward, of Sagewood Place, Colchester, appeared in Colchester Magistrates Court last Monday where he admitted two charges, one of assault by beating of an emergency worker, and another of failing to appear in court.
The 30-year-old assaulted the policeman in June, earlier this year, and was ordered to pay £313 which was deducted from his benefits.
