POLICE officers are stepping-up their investigation into a vicious city centre attack after a man suffered a nasty stab wound while sitting in his car.
Essex Police received reports of an attack which is understood to have taken place in St Botolph’s Street between 4am and 5.15am on September 11.
The victim, a man in his 30s, had been sitting in his white BMW when a disturbance broke out, resulting in him sustaining a serious injury and having to go to hospital.
The force has now issued CCTV imagery of four people they would like to speak to in connection with the assault.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Officers are investigating an assault in Colchester where a man was injured while sitting in his vehicle.
“Our investigation continues and we are now asking the public to help.
“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, if you recognise anybody in the images, please get in contact with us.
“Please quote the crime reference number 42/234851/22 and let us know by submitting a report on our website or by using our online Live Chat service.”
