HISTORIANS are appealing for people's memories in a bid to rejuvenate a park originally set to rival Brighton as a resort.
Work is being done to rebuild one of the shelters in Cliff Park Gardens, near the end of Orwell Terrace, in Dovercourt.
Council historians hope their research will help secure future grants to fund more improvements to the park by re-establishing paths, planting and furniture.
One aim is to reinstate the Edwardian park wall, railings and gateways along Main Road, which is set to improve the park and the townscape.
The railings were lost during the Second World War.
