A man from America has been charged after a BMW narrowly avoided a crash with Essex officers.
The BMW pictured pulled out on officers at a junction in Colchester in the early hours yesterday, and police say they "narrowly avoided a collision".
The driver provided a positive roadside test of 69.
A 21 year old male from Arizona, USA, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, section 5 public order and driving without insurance.
He has now been charged with all three offences.
He was also been remanded into custody to attend court today (October 10).
An Essex Police spokesman said: "There is therefore no concern of him leaving the country before court."
