A COUPLE who met over a broken phone line - have gone from engaged to ringing wedding bells - in a British Telecom van.
Newlyweds Rob Cherry and Ruth Cherry-Galal, both 40, travelled to their wedding in a BT Openreach van.
The carriage was a nod to the way they first met 13 years-ago, when Rob, then a British Telecom telephone engineer and a father of one, turned up at Ruth's home to mend her phone line.
Mrs Cherry, a housewife and part-time carer, said: "I had two young children at the time and I wasn't really looking to let anyone else into my life, but I thought he looked nice so when he asked me out for a drink I said yes'".
The pair, of Maldon Road, Colchester, were soon inseparable.
