MAGISTRATES courts deal with all kinds of offences throughout the week.
And one all-too-common offence seen in the courts is drink driving.
Here is a round-up of some of those who have been banned from the roads after admitting drink driving in Colchester at court this month.
Mykel Benson, 35, of Greenstead Road, Colchester
When and where? July 16 in Elmstead Road
The amount of alcohol in his breath: 71mcg in 100 ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
What was the punishment? Banned from driving for three years and ordered to pay £294 in a fine, costs and surcharge.
Robert Seager, 32, of Appleton Mews, Colchester
When and where? September 9 in Lexden Road.
The amount of alcohol in his breath: 69mcg in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
What was the punishment? Banned from driving for 17 months and ordered to pay £651 in a fine, costs and surcharge.
Lewis Matthews, 19, of Vienna Close, Harwich
When and where? September 17 in Lexden Road.
The amount of alcohol in his breath: 74mcg in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
What was the punishment? Banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay £273 in a fine, costs and surcharge.
Luke Anthony, 31, of Nayland Road, Colchester
When and where? April 4 in Mile End Road.
The amount of alcohol in his breath: 191mg in 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 80mg.
What was the punishment? Banned from driving for 21 months and ordered to pay £655 in a fine, costs and surcharge.
