RESIDENTS are being offered the chance to become board members of the company tasked with regenerating Tendring.

Tendring Council's new regeneration company INTend is looking for people to take up the five non-council member positions on the board.

Company chairman David Lines, who is also leader of the district council, said the board is welcoming applications from people who feel they have the right qualities.

"We are now looking for people who will play a central role in helping us develop and shape the future of INTend," he said.

"We need a board that has the broadest possible spectrum of knowledge, has the skills required, and is representative of our area and its needs.

"This is part of the challenge of the new approach to regeneration and we mustn't be afraid of doing things in new ways if we are going to deliver real change and make a difference for the people of Tendring."

Mr Lines said people living outside the district will also be considered as long as they have a good understanding of Tendring.

"People prepared to make a difference, shape projects and challenge traditional thinking are what we are looking for now," he added.
