TRAVELLERS have moved on to a field, sparking complaints they are blocking a bridlepath.
The group has camped on land off Gorse Lane, Great Clacton, with four caravans and four cars.
But people living nearby say the visitors have parked across the bridlepath, preventing them from using the public right of way.
Tempers flared on Wednesday, when a resident tried to stop one of the caravans getting on the field.
Police were called at 3.45pm to calm the situation but no arrests were made.
Officers are also investigating how bollards, which stop vehicles getting on the land, were removed.
The first travellers arrived on Tuesday evening and were joined by another caravan the following afternoon.
Tendring Council is monitoring the situation.
