COLCHESTER motorists have five road closures to avoid on the nearby National Highways network this week, with one closure expected to cause delays between ten minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, including notes from National Highways, shows that there are two closures already in place that are expected to carry on this week.
The A12 will have moderate delays in both directions, between junction 19 to junction 29, from October 14, till 5am on February 3, 2024.
The delays will include carriageway closures, exit slip road closures, entry slip road closures, lane closures and a diversion route.
Lay-bys will be permanently closed for the duration of works due to carriageway reconstruction and renewal works on the chevron.
The A12 will see delays in both directions between junctions 26 and 28, from 9.30am till 4.30pm on October 27.
There will be further delays in both directions between junctions 26 and 28, from 9.30am till 4.30pm on October 29, with a slight diversion route.
The A120 will see delays in both directions between Colne Road and Great Tey Road, from 7am on October 31, to 5pm on November 4. A diversion route will be provided on behalf of Essex Highways.
The A12 will see slight delays of under ten minutes in both directions, between junctions 26 and 27, from 8pm on November 7, till 5am on November 9. There will be a diversion route on behalf of Essex Highways.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining both motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
