PUBLIC meetings are being organised to allow people to discuss plans for a new GP centre in Colchester.
North East Essex NHS Primary Care Trust (PCT) has said it wants to move the walk-in service currently based in Middleborough to the primary care centre in Turner Road when the medical centre opens.
The new centre would be open 365 days a year from 8am to 8pm and offer a GP-led appointment and walk-in service. The move has courted controversy and the Gazette has relaunched its Keep It Central Campaign to keep the walk-in centre at Middleborough.
The PCT has launched an eight-week consultation and will hold two meetings as part of this.
The first will take place on June 11, from 2pm to 4pm, at Kennedy House, in Kennedy Way, Clacton and the second will be held at the primary care centre in Colchester, on June 17, from 7pm to 9pm.
