WASTE bosses hope an ambitious £1.25million-plan could see a massive boost for recycling in Tendring.
Essex County Council cabinet member for environment and waste, Tracey Chapman, said she is looking to increase recycling in the district to meet its waste plan target of 40 per cent recycled material by 2010.
Tendring Council's environmental service portfolio holder Michael Talbot said the district council only has enough funds to meet national targets set by the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
However, he hopes the county council will help to fund a new kitchen waste collection scheme for 51,000 homes in the district.
