A MUM praised two girls who rushed to her aid when she fell off her bike and was seriously injured.
Heather Fisher, 41, was cycling along an alley at the back of the Harwich and Parkeston football ground, in Dovercourt, with her son, Daniel, seven, when she got her bike wheel caught in broken fencing.
Ms Fisher was thrown from her bike and was shocked to find blood coming from her ear and chin.
"My front wheel got caught in the fence and the bike ended up on top of me," she said.
"When I got up there was blood everywhere. It was awful."
She said she did not know what to do, but then two girls approached her who were walking past.
She spent five days in hospital and now says she is too frightened to ride her bike again.
"The two girls were so helpful and I don't even know their names.
"I just want them to know how grateful I am that they got me and my son home safely."
