A STRETCH of seaside promenade is open to the public again after a £65,000 makeover.
Part of the top promenade along Marine Parade East, in Clacton, had restricted access while the maintenance work was carried out.
It had been hoped the stretch opposite Beach Road would open over the Easter weekend, but that had to be postponed until now because of drainage and engineering problems.
Bad weather also caused the project to be delayed.
Tendring's technical and procurement services portfolio holder, Harry Shearing, said: "Often when you start schemes like this, you discover issues you had not anticipated - and the drainage problems certainly were not expected.
"What we have now is an excellent finish to the promenade, which will benefit all those that use it."
