VOLUNTEERS have been rolling their sleeves up to help re-vamp a children's play area.
The community-spirited bunch, including ten children and park committee members, have been giving the play area a lick of paint at the Welfare Park off Garland Road, Parkeston.
They were able to use 30 tins of paint donated from Tendring Council's Re-paint Scheme, which collects unwanted paint from businesses, to be used for other causes.
A quiz night at the Royal Oak pub, Dovercourt, also netted around £190 to get extra paint for the committee.
At the end of the day, staff at the Captain Fryatt pub, Parkeston, laid on refreshments and hot dogs for the workers.
