AN arts and culture venue in Colchester is set to play host to the latest instalment of an epic fantasy tale and a daring one-woman show later this month.
Mercury Theatre, in Balkerne Gate, will stage DESTINY on November 15 and The Chronicles of Atom & Luna on November 19 and 20.
The former, which is fresh from its run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, takes place on a rural council estate and follows the life of a teenage girl dreaming of stardom.
The main protagonist is fearless, ferocious and up for the fight, but her life spirals out of control after a big night out and she is forced to pick up the pieces.
The Chronicles of Atom & Luna, meanwhile, details a magical adventure, taking children on a fantastical journey through nature and time.
The concluding show of its successful tour will see the audience enter the forbidden forest on a rescue mission with wonderful puppetry, poetry and music.
Tickets for DESTINY, which contains strong references to sexual abuse and violence, strobe lighting, flashing lights, strong language, and adult themes, cost £13.
Entry to The Chronicles of Atom & Luna, for children aged seven and over, cost between £6 and £12.
All tickets can be purchased by visiting mercurytheatre.co.uk.
