FEARLESS charity supporters ticked an item off their bucket list by courageously taking on a fire walk.

The 75 fundraisers braved the coals in the name of Colchester’s St Helena Hospice.

Participants were supported with an in-depth training session before walking barefoot across a 15ft-long path of red hot embers.

The charity’s supporter engagement fundraiser Lisa Chenery said: “We think our fire walk participants are amazing for braving the coals.

“The money they have raised in sponsorship will make an incredible difference for the patients and families we support.”

Each participant had a £150 target which could provide 30 families who are in distress with expert advice and guidance.

Remarkably, those involved have raised £12,000 so far.

Ms Chenery continued: “Without our fundraisers we just wouldn’t be able to do what we do, so we are incredibly grateful to all of our fire walk participants for their support.

“A big thank you also to our fire walk sponsor Nested Colchester for supporting the event.”
