AN iconic filmmaker and comedian will screen his new movie at a city centre venue next week before engaging in a fascinating talk all about how he made it.
Graham Fellow will bring his most personal documentary yet, Father Earth, to Colchester Arts Centre, in Church Street, on November 26.
The touchingly quirky true story explores one man’s efforts to save his own world, while also attempting to save the planet.
It stars Graham, as himself, as well as his comic alter ego, John Shuttleworth, and there are also guest appearances from children’s TV legends Sooty and Sweep.
The 83 minute documentary, which he will delve into during a Q&A, follows Graham’s previous indie features, It’s Nice Up North and Southern Softies.
A spokesman for the event said: “Can Graham, armed with a G Wiz electric car, successfully convert a derelict church on a windswept island in Orkney into an eco-friendly recording studio?
“Or will life and relationships, particularly those between fathers and sons, get in the way? And where does John Shuttleworth fit in to all this?
“The film will be touring cinema and arts venues through to December and each screening will be followed by a Q&A with Graham, who will reveal, among other things, why the film was 12 years in the making.”
Tickets cost £14 or £13 for concession and can be purchased from colchesterartscentre.com.
