A wheelie, wheelie great prize is being lined up for bikers signing up for this year's motorcycle run in aid of the Essex Air Ambulance.

This year's event is on September 7.

Gates open at Ford Dunton near Basildon at 8am. World champion stunt rider Craig Jones will perform his amazing routine as bikers prepare for the start of the run.

Riders will follow a route approved by the Essex Police. Leaving Ford Dunton, bikers will be marshalled down the A127 to the A130, and on to the A12. From the A12 the bikes will be directed to Harwich on the A120. The run finishes in Harwich in time for the town's family festival.

This year Cannon Motorcycles, of Braintree, has come up trumps with a BMW G650 X Moto machine as a prize, while Austrian Motorcycle Tours, based in Nacton, Suffolk, is offering a ten-day holiday in the Austrian Alps.

Both will go to one lucky participant in Essex Air Ambulance's biggest annual fundraiser.

To stand a chance of winning, supporters need to pre-register at Essex AirAmbulance.uk.com and their details will be automatically entered into the prize draw.

Essex FM will run the draw and announce the winner on September 9.

Wendy Byland, of Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust, said: "We hope that this is just the start of our relationship, and, in particular, we hope that they will also be part of our landmark tenth motorcycle run next year."
