A RENOWNED comedian will be in Colchester next summer as part of his return to the stand-up comedy circuit.
Dara Ó Briain will be performing his new show – titled ‘So, Where Were We?’ – at Charter Hall on Friday, June 26 next year.
His previous tour, ‘Voice of Reason’, was performed 180 times from 2018 to 2020 in twenty different countries including New York, Moscow, Reykjavik, and Auckland, but next year’s tour will see him come to Colchester for the first time.
The Irish comic is also well-known for his performances outside stand-up, having previously hosted Mock the Week and The Apprentice: You’re Fired.
His new stand-up show, however – which has one more showing before Christmas – has already received strong reviews, with a Times critic describing it as “probably the best, certainly the most memorable [show] from a consistently entertaining career.”
The deputy leader of Colchester Council, Adam Fox, said about next year's show: "It’s great news that the hugely popular Dara Ó Briain is bringing his tour to the city of Colchester.
"Charter Hall is fast becoming a ‘must-go’ destination for so many comedians and musicians of international stature and we welcome the opportunities this brings residents to enjoy top-class performances so close to home.”
