A TEENAGE girl could be psychologically scarred for life after being brutally beaten and left unconscious on the side of a road, fears her devastated mum.

The Colchester parent’s 15-year-old daughter was found passed-out and severely bruised and bloodied in Shrub End, Colchester, after 9pm on Friday.

The youngster’s mum, who has asked to remain anonymous, believes her child was attacked by a gang of women inside a pub before being followed as she tried to flee.

She also says her daughter was violently smacked against a nearby bus stop a short while later by a man before being seen slumped against a set of railings.

After being discovered by a passer-by, the teenager was subsequently taken to Colchester Hospital, where she received treatment.

Gazette:

As a result of the shocking assault, she suffered severe lacerations to her lip and above her eye and a severe concussion, and her body is now covered in bruises.

The girl’s mum said: “When I got to the hospital I did not recognise her because all of her hair was smothered in blood and it was stuck to her face.

“It made me cry because what she went through must have been horrifying – it would be bad enough for an adult, let alone being a child.

“I am infuriated because she was slammed against everything and had her brain rattled – she was beaten unconscious by grown adults.”

Since being discharged from hospital during the early hours of the morning, the 15-year-old has been experiencing severe headaches while recovering at home.

Her mum now believes the sickening attack on her daughter will have mental repercussions on her daughter just as much as it will physical.

She added: “She is a mess at the moment and has been in bed ever since, only being able to get up to go to the toilet.

“She has been scarred for life by this – not just physically but psychologically as well.

Gazette:

“She is so distraught and is now too scared to go out - she is worried about going to school or getting on the bus on her own.

“My daughter was vulnerable, so if the passer-by had not seen her when they did, this could have been a very different story.”

Essex Police have confirmed the attack remains under investigation.

A spokesman said: "We were called to Shrub End Road in Colchester at about 9.15pm on Friday following reports of a young woman being found injured.

"No arrests have been made at this stage."
