TICKETS are now on sale for events at the Essex Arena including volleyball and basketball as part of the university’s winter festival of sport.

The first event will take place on Saturday, December 10, when a triple header of basketball will take place at the Essex Arena on Essex University’s Colchester campus.

Sunday, December 11, will involve a doubleheader of volleyball, with the intervals also featuring entertainment – half-time shows, DJ sets, competitions, and prizes have all been lined up as part of half-time events.

The following weekend, on Saturday, December 17, a triple header of basketball games will take place in the final major university sporting event of the calendar year.

Essex University’s director of sport, Dave Parry, said the events will provide plenty of fun for visitors and their families.

He said: “We love Christmas here at the University of Essex and we want to do everything we can to make families enjoy the most magical time of the year. 

“It doesn’t matter if you are an avid basketball or volleyball fan or you are just looking for something new for the kids you are more than welcome at these great events and we promise you will be entertained.”
