A pensioner is recovering after being hit by a bicycle inside a shop.
Eileen Sanderson, 87, of Marine Parade West, Clacton, had gone into the town's Woolworths, via the West Avenue entrance, to buy some chocolate.
The next thing she knew, she was lying on the floor underneath a bike, with its teenage owner also sprawled on the ground.
"I think the boy might have been riding the bike inside the shop," said Mrs Sanderson.
"At first I thought both my legs were broken, but I realised they were caught in the spokes.
"The boy just picked up his bike and vanished, leaving me on the floor."
Two shoppers came to Mrs Sanderson's aid, getting her up and seating her on a chair while she calmed down.
Police are looking at CCTV from the shop to see if they can identify the boy.
A spokesman for Woolworths said: "No-one is sure whether the boy was riding his bike, but because it was just inside the entrance our staff wouldn't have had time to stop him before the accident. Safety of all our customers is of the utmost importance to us."
