GARDEN waste collections are to be paused on December 13, with all other services planned to run as normal.
Due to the current icy conditions affecting the surface of roads and pavements in parts of Colchester, Colchester City Council has decided to pause garden waste collections.
They have asked residents not to put out garden waste for collections scheduled on Tuesday, December 13, but for their next collection which is Tuesday, January 10.
At the next collection in January, they will be accepting a maximum of four garden sacks, or one brown wheelie bin.
Crews will be out collecting all other recycling and rubbish as usual.
A spokesperson for Colchester City Council said: “We are asking residents to please bear with us as we do the best we can under the circumstances.
“The pavements are slippery, so it will take longer for our crews to complete their routes.
“Residents are advised to check for further updates on the council’s website and social media channels.”
