A BROADBAND provider has apologised to residents after installing routers into their homes which may not work for six months.

Gigaclear promised high speed internet connection to villagers in Coggeshall but a “blockage” has delayed its rollout.

The Gazette understands some residents had wifi boxes installed in their homes and were told it would be up and running by late November, but now this could be a six month wait.

Gigaclear has now pledged to send out a team of engineers to Tilkey Road this week to determine what the issue is.

A spokesman said: “We would like to apologise to those residents in Tilkey Road, Coggeshall who have yet to be connected to our full fibre broadband network.

“Our plan is to send out a team of engineers this week to determine exactly what the issue is and then, where possible, take measures to resolve any potential blockages.

“As soon as we have a full understanding of what may need to be done in order to give access to the homeowners affected, we shall be in contact with them.

“In the meantime, we thank them for their patience as we look to resolve this matter as quickly as possible.”
