A YOUNG girl suffered "minor cuts and bruises" after she was "clipped" by a car in Colchester.

Essex Police are appealing for information following a collision involving a car and a child on Saturday, December 17.

Officers were called to Tile House Lane, at the junction with The Causeway, shortly after 10am following reports of a 9-year-old girl being clipped by a car.

The girl was knocked to the floor, suffering minor cuts and bruises.

A police spokesman said: "The driver of the small grey car involved, a white woman in her 40s, stopped at the scene before telling the girl she'll be alright and driving off.

"We are appealing to anyone who may have witnesses this incident or have any information which could assist to contact us.

"If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us."
