FIREFIGHTERS battled an inferno for more than an hour of an outbuilding positioned near houses in Braintree became engulfed in flames.
Crews from Braintree Fire Station and Coggeshall Fire Station were called to a blaze in Manor Street, shortly after 6pm on Monday.
The fire service’s 999 operators had received several calls reporting fire and smoke coming from behind houses in the area.
When firefighters arrived they were confronted with an outbuilding, measuring approximately 6m x 4m, which was completely on fire.
Thankfully, they managed to fully extinguish the inferno, the cause of which remains unknown, by 7:20pm.
