SHOPPERS at a retail park became stuck in a gridlock after a power cut sparked mass exits, it is understood.
The Gazette understands a mass power outage impacted Turner Rise Retail Park, Colchester, this afternoon.
A shopper caught up in the situation said he remained stuck in the retail site’s car park as everyone “attempted to leave at the same time”.
He claimed: “The whole site has gone down with a power failure so everybody is trying to get out.”
Pictures show scores of vehicles trying to exit the car park in Petrolea Close but becoming gridlocked.
It is understood that the Asda supermarket was impacted by the reported power outage.
Other venues at the retail park include Dunelm, Home Bargains and B&M. Food outlets include Pizza Hut and Subway.
It has not yet been confirmed which shops suffered from the reported outage.
