A CAFÉ owner who has spent thousands of pounds converting his business into a takeaway hotspot is set to bring a YouTube star’s burger brand to Colchester.
Francis Colombi, who runs Lorraine’s Café, in Trinity Street, is set to bring MrBeast Burger to Colchester.
MrBeast – internet personality Jimmy Donaldson – is credited with pioneering a genre of YouTube videos that centres on expensive stunts.
His YouTube channel had 126 million subscribers as of November 17, 2022.
His burger company, popular in the US, operates out of existing restaurant kitchens, allowing restaurateurs to add a new source of revenue without impacting the operation.
Customers will be able to order the popular burgers and sides via takeaway apps UberEats, Deliveroo and Just Eat TBC.

MrBeast burgers will be the latest addition to the café’s takeaway and delivery offering, with curries, a Turkish kebab grill, biriani brand and several fried chicken concepts also coming on to the menu.
The restaurant has also launched its full English buffet-menu, priced at £9 for all you can eat including drinks.
“You will get the same authentic branded, packaged food delivered directly to your door, and more menu choices” he said.
Mr Colombi hopes the takeaway offering will help naturally increase footfall in to the city centre.
He said: “It’s a quiet street full of cafes and independent retailers, so there is plenty of fantastic choice.
"Footfall isn’t great for everyone at the moment, MrBeast Burger is an internationally famous brand, and being the only restaurant to offer this near London, it should bring more people to visit Colchester from other areas.
"They have advised me that it should be very busy and they jumped on the idea and sent the contracts to me in seconds, I am very grateful for their support.
“From what I’ve seen and experienced so far, we all support each other here and work very closely together so it feels like a little family around here, and it would be nice to drive traffic to this area and increase everyone’s sales. In turn this should create more jobs in the town”
MrBeast burgers and sides will be available to buy from Lorraine’s café from the end of January subject to approvals in the US.
