A MAN and a woman are set to appear in court after a 17-year-old girl suffered serious facial injuries in a dog attack.
Craig Forward, 31, and Rachel Tebbs, 50, both of Oakapple Close, Colchester, face a single charge of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.
They are due to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Ellie Nicholson, 17, received stiches to her upper lip after she was attacked by a dog at a home in Colchester on July 27 last year.
Essex Police confirmed the dog, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was seized “to prevent further risk”.
Speaking to the Gazette after the incident, mum Vicky, from Manningtree, said her daughter had to make repeat visits to the hospital for the wound to be cleaned.
"Only time will tell [whether she needs further hospital treatment], we've just got to keep fingers crossed as to what happens with it,” she said.
"She's at home to recover, as it's the best place as she only feels safe there and her anxiety is through the roof."
Ellie suffered further bites to her arm, wrist and leg in the attack.
