A PENSIONER who was pulled from the water during a fishing holiday drowned after a heart attack, an inquest heard.
Keen fisherman John Claydon, from Colchester, was enjoying fishing in Scotland before tragedy struck on August 1 last year.
Essex Coroner’s Court heard a fellow fisherman spotted him in the water while walking along the riverbank and pulled him from its depths.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the 72-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 1pm.
An inquest has now heard Mr Claydon drowned due to a heart attack as a result of chronic heart related conditions.
