A CLASSICAL concert featuring a musical husband and wife duo will be staged in a historic Colchester setting later this year.
Violinist Melinda Greenfield and cellist James Greenfield will perform at St Botolph’s Church on March 4.
The pair run Play Strings Academy, a string school in the heart of Colchester which specialises in violin, viola, cello and chamber music tuition.
They are also both seasoned professionals and have performed at the highest of levels.
During the special show they will play alongside the St Botolph’s Music Society Orchestra for its hallmark annual gala.
Together the ensemble of remarkable instrumentalists will perform Brahms’ famous Double Violin and Cello Concerto piece.
The programme will also include Fauré’s Élégie, Zigeunerweise by Sarasate, and the Tragic Overture by Brahms.
Conductor Jonathan Abbott said: “We are delighted to have Melinda and James play at this gala with an exciting programme.”
Tickets for the 7.30pm concert can be purchased by visiting sbms.org.uk, calling 01206 823662 or heading to Red Lion Books, High Street, Colchester.
Play Strings will also take their Chamber Orchestra to Belgium to perform three concerts as part of a European Tour later this year.
