RESIDENTS are invited to spend a night under the stars with the Colchester mayor and mayoress sleeping outdoors in Castle Park for charity.

Tim Young and Nicola Goodchild are inviting residents to sleep in Castle Park with them, right next to Colchester Castle, to raise money for homeless charities.

In order to join them, applicants must raise a minimum of £300 from friends, family or their place of work, which will be distributed between the Colchester Night Shelter, Beacon House and the Colchester Foodbank.

A free breakfast will be provided in the morning with tents allowed for the sleepover. Cardboard will be provided for those who wish to experience sleeping rough.

All places must be pre-booked, by contacting Tony Dutch, community chair of the Colchester Rotary Club, at tonydutch1945@gmail.com, or the president of the club, Jon Neill, at jnneill20@gmail.com.

The event is set to take place on Saturday, April 22.

For more information, contact either Tony Dutch or Jon Neill.
