A MAN who reversed out of a space and hit a pedestrian has been handed five penalty points.
Mark Stallard, 41, of Selby Close, Colchester, was charged with driving without due care and attention after the incident in Bardfield Road, West Mersea, on July 19.
The court heard Stallard, who was driving a Ford Fiesta, reversed out of a parking space “without looking properly” and collided with pedestrian.
The case was proved in his absence at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on February 9.
Stallard was handed five penalty points and fined £440.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £110 and a victim services charge of £176.
