A PARTY to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III is being held at a popular village venue.
Tiptree Tea Rooms is hosting a coronation tea event with live music and afternoon tea at the marquee venue in Factory Hill.
Swing, jazz and blues singer Sarah Mai will be performing at the street party themed event.
There will be a selection of finger sandwiches, homemade fruit scones, cakes and lots of Tiptree jam up for grabs.
Other treats included in the coronation tea menu are Tiptree Patisserie strawberry and champagne cheesecake, Bakewell, red velvet sponge cake, homemade traditional Victoria sponge cake and homemade lemon cream using Tiptree lemon curd.
On the finger sandwiches menu is a range of unique Tiptree made fillings including coronation turkey, butcher's ham and Tiptree English mustard, mature cheddar and Tiptree onion relish and egg mayonnaise and cress.
The coronation of King Charles III will take place on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London.
The celebration is being held on the Friday before as the tearoom is closed on the day of the coronation on Saturday to allow staff to celebrate the historic event.
Aimee Smith, Tiptree Tea Room marketing manager, said: “We are so excited to be hosting this event in celebration of King Charles III's coronation and we really look forward to sharing this memorable occasion with our patriotic friends.”

A spokesman for the event said: “We’re throwing a street party themed afternoon tea with a coronation twist in the Tiptree Secret Garden Marque, with bunting and live music from the fantastic Sarah Mai.
“Ticket price includes our special coronation English afternoon tea with a glass of Pimm’s or prosecco on arrival and a Tiptree treat to take home.

The event is at the Tiptree Secret Garden Marquee at the Tiptree Tea Room in Factory Hill, Tiptree on Friday, May 5 from 1pm to 4pm.
Early bird tickets cost £50 per person and are available until Tuesday, April 11.
