A MAN who failed to keep his “untidy” front garden presentable has been fined by Colchester Council.
Andrew Wilkinson was warned he must undertake works on his property in Old Forge Road, Layer, before December 19 2021.
Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard he was ordered to tend to overgrown grass, weeds, ivy and shrubs in his front garden and remove all resulting materials from the property.
The offence was proved in Wilkinson’s absence from the hearing.
He was fined £500 and instructed to pay an eye-watering £1,568.50 bill for costs and a surcharge.
