PLANS have been submitted convert part of an iconic Colchester nightclub into five flats.
The bid has been submitted to Colchester Council, to convert part of the nightclub, on Queen Street, into three flats.
This is in addition to three flats which were given permission in 2017.
If successful, the new application will result in two flats being built into the second and third floors of the Colchester nightclub, each with a spare room, kitchen and shower area.
The planning application said: “The ground floor is currently in use as a night club and works are in progress on the first and second floors to create 3No. Flats which have been granted planning permission.”

The application follows a successful bid to build two flats above the night club back in July of 2017.
The Silk Road bar and nightclub has been serving punters as a family run business since 2007.
The bar holds one of the only 5AM alcohol licenses in Colchester and, in recent years, has undertaken a huge conversion into a luxury bar.
The venue now holds four bars over two floors, with a main bar serving an expansive range of spirits, a luxury gin and champagne bar and a fresh fruit cocktail bar.
The venue is also renowned for its heated outdoor terrace, and shishas.
Colchester Council will have the final say on the flats plan.
