A DATE has been set for the opening of the American hamburger brand opening its Colchester restaurant at the Northern Gateway.
Wendy’s has announced a date for the venue to open, as part of its expansion across the UK, which will create 120 new jobs across Colchester, Lincoln, and Wisbech.
The Colchester restaurant will open its doors to customers in May 2023, marking the brand’s second drive-thru location in the UK, meaning fans can fix their cravings whilst on the go.
Colchester residents will be able to try the brands signature items, as well as an exclusive range of menu items tailored for United Kingdom diners.
Food lovers will be able to enjoy menu stables, such as the Baconator, Dave’s Double, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and the brand’s iconic Frosty ice cream, in vanilla and chocolate flavours.
Alongside this, diners can try an exclusive range of items tailored especially to Brits, including the Avocado Chicken Club, Curry Bean Burger, and chicken nuggets made from whole chicken breast.
Based on the forthcoming Northern Gateway Leisure Park, the restaurant’s arrival marks the transformation of the area of north Colchester.
Once finally opened, the £ 65 million site will include a Travelodge, bowling alley, cinema, Jump Street and many more venues.
Diners will be spoilt for choice, with Kervan Kitchen, a regional buffer operator providing global cuisine, an all-new Greggs, and Wendy’s.
The new fast-food outlet and iconic British bakery brand will each boast a drive-thru, which will encompass a grand 200,000 square feet.
There are now almost 30 Wendy’s locations across the United Kingdom, including 13 brick-and-mortar restaurants. The fast food giant aims to have 45 sites operating across the United Kingdom by the end of 2023.
The new restaurant has already commenced recruitment, creating over 120 jobs across the three new sites, offering staff members competitive salaries, employee benefits and opportunities for growth.
