NATIONAL Highways has provided its latest update on the ongoing work on the A12.
The A12 is being reconstructed between Marks Tey and Stanway (between junctions 25 and 26) with work starting back in October last year.
Reconstruction will involve completely removing the concrete road surface and some of the foundations, before rebuilding the road and resurfacing it with asphalt.
The £37million project, which will use recycled material and a new asphalt road surface, is expected it will not conclude until the winter of 2023/24.
A spokesman has provided the latest update on the works and upcoming closures have been noted.

They said: "We’re continuing our work to remove the concrete road surface and its foundations on sections of the A12 northbound, before rebuilding the road and resurfacing it with asphalt.
"This work will take place in lane one of the main A12 carriageway between the junction 25 northbound exit and entry slip roads, and on and around the A12 junction 26 northbound exit slip road.
"Please note that some changes have been made to our schedule of work for this week.
"Please see below for the latest information."
Upcoming closures
Below is an updated list of closures coming to the A12 as part of the works.
Diversions will be in place during the closures, as seen below.
The spokesman added: "Please note that delays are possible on the A120 eastbound.
"We’re sorry for the disruption these closures may cause to your journey and encourage drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time when travelling.
"These closures are subject to change at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances or poor weather conditions, please check this webpage and our Twitter feed (@HighwaysEAST) for the latest information before you travel."
