Dave Harris, Colchester councillor was Berechurch, has put together a petition signed by residents voicing their frustration with the state of the road.
He said: “The road has been resurfaced or part resurfaced three times in 20 years and not lasted – it is the worst road in Colchester.
“They are so bad it is becoming difficult to avoid the pot holes – it’s a bus route as well, and well used by cyclists.

“I am appalled by the criteria county highways have set [and] I have asked the head of highways services to visit with me to walk through [the estate].”
Essex Highways boss Lee Scott is understood to have now agreed to look at the road after being invited to do so by Mr Harris.
