A POPULAR funnyman is back at the Charter Hall just over a year after his sell-out show in the city.
Jimmy Carr, known for his controversial close-to-the-mark one-liners will once again perform at the arts venue later this year.
Carr's last Terribly Funny 2.0 show at the Charter Hall in 2022 was a sell-out and saw the comedian even compare Colchester to war-torn Ukraine.
During his set, the funnyman told the audience there are “better looking cities in the Donbas region”.
City mayor Tim Young, who confessed he is not a fan of the comedian, questioned whether he should make light of an ongoing war costing thousands of lives.
He also said Carr “doesn't know what he's talking about”.
A spokesman said: “Jimmy’s show contains jokes about all kinds of terrible things.
“Terrible things that might have affected you or people you know and love.
“But they’re just jokes – they are not the terrible things.
“Having political correctness at a comedy show is like having health and safety at a rodeo.
“Now you’ve been warned, buy a ticket.”
Jimmy Carr is back at the Charter Hall on October 18 at 8pm.
