CAMPAIGNERS staged a demonstration on a busy Colchester roundabout yesterday.

Sign-wielding protestors were spotted at the Maldon Road roundabout, positioned at the junction of Southway, Balkerne Hill, and Maldon Road.

Pictures sent to the Gazette show at least four demonstrators on the grass verges next to the roundabout.

Immigration seemed to be a large focus of the stunt while other signs raised concerns regarding vaccines and the NHS.

Some of the residents who took part in the protest were also vocal about the climate crisis, with one of the placards reading: “Say no to net zero”.

The latest protest comes after demonstrators previously visited the Colchester Gazette offices where they tried to get their anti-vaccine message across to workers and passing drivers.

Visiting Newsquest's office in Brunel Way last May, the protestors brought boards which suggested “vaccinating children is child abuse” and there is “no money made from natural immunity".

Speaking previously one of the campaigners said: “The reason we do this is to try and raise awareness of the vaccines and the damage they are doing to people."

Protests have also taken place in London Road, Stanway, previously.
